y2sk8board is a skateboard deck design I made as a gift for Snake from the band Snakeskin. Inspired by Windows Media Player skins, it is the ultimate “mobile device.” It is the only skateboard with a skip-proof, MP3-compatible CD-RW player, a custom 64MB MP3 player, Digital Dynamic Bass Boost Technology, a 10-band equalizer, aux and mic inputs, a media visualization system, Gameboy controls, video phone AND wheels. It runs on skate-power. I had a lot of fun creating this entirely in Photoshop using only the effects and layer styles available 20 years ago in the 6.0 release of Photoshop.
The deck design features Easter eggs about Snake music -- including the names of some as yet unreleased music. The MP3 player is playing Homogenic by Bjork.
